Facelift
The Rhytidectomy or facelift is a plastic surgery that consists in improving the signs of aging in the face and neck.
Facial rejuvenation surgery is divided into thirds:
- The surgery of the upper third aims to raise the eyebrows and eliminate the frontal and frown lines permanently.
- Surgery of the middle third allows lifting the cheekbones, correcting the nasolabial folds and eliminating the loose skin of the cheeks, using a classic technique or with endoscopic technology.
- Neck surgery or lower third third is designed to mark the mandibular angles, remove the jowls, flaccidity and eliminate the bands that are marked in the midline of the neck.
Which is the best way?
The ideal candidate for face lift surgery is any healthy individual without diseases that endanger adequate healing, non-smokers or who are willing to quit a month before and one month after surgery, people with an attitude positive and have realistic expectations.
The proper technique of Facelift depends on a thorough facial analysis and on certain individual factors such as age, fat in the jowls, excess skin and the condition of the muscles. Where will the scars of the surgery be placed?
Depending on the technique, in a conventional facelift scars are made that are hidden in the region of the scalp above the ear, then the scar extends in front of the ear at a site where scarring with the passage of time is practically imperceptible, ends hidden behind the ear and extends to the region of the hair of the occipital region. Also to rejuvenate the neck a small scar is made in the region below the chin, which is not visible.
Once the facial rejuvenation surgery is completed and during recovery, a bandage can be placed around the face to minimize swelling and bruising.
